We have an exciting opportunity to support our Energy Management team as an Energy Surveyor, in our growing Energy business, LASER, in Kings Hill - this role is Fixed Term for 1 year.

You will provide DECs (Display Energy Certificates) and RRs (Recommendation Reports) to LASER’s wide range of public sector customers. You will be qualified and registered with a relevant certification body to carry out and lodge DECs & RRs.

You must be willing to undergo a full DBS check to prove that you are suitable to work in environments with vulnerable groups.

Key Duties

  • Organise and carry out site surveys in public sector buildings such as offices, schools, hospitals and clinics. The role predominantly covers the South East and outer London although occasional travel across the UK may also be required.
  • Collect and process the data required to produce Display Energy Certificates and Recommendation Reports using accredited software. Ensure DECs and RRs are produced to a standard that is both acceptable to the relevant accreditation body and meets customers’ expectations.
  • Manage workloads and report on progress in the required manner to the Senior Energy Surveyor.
  • Manage relationships with clients via telephone, email and face to face.
  • Be willing to take responsibility for the commercial aspects of the role such as costing work, ensuring quotations are appropriate for the task and delivering a high standard of service.
  • Help promote the energy certification service and LASER’s other services to potential new clients.
  • Attend training events and seminars as appropriate to ensure a suitable level of CPD so that qualifications are maintained.
  • Carry out other energy management related tasks as required within the team.

You will have

  • A qualification and  be registered with a relevant certification body to carry out and lodge DECs & RRs.
  • Knowledge of how to complete and lodge DEC and RR certificates
  • The ability to take responsibility for managing schedules and workflows.
  • Possess sufficient industry experience and technical knowledge to confidently assess the performance of a variety of building systems and controls and advise clients on energy management (Desirable)
  • Experience of using the Landmark NDEPC Registry (Desirable)
  • Additional qualifications i.e. EPC, ESOS etc. are also considered beneficial
