Cearon completes his castle challenge

Sep 08, 2016

He got lost a couple of times, needed several new inner tubes and was stung by a bee, so congratulations to Cearon O'Flynn in CSIT for completing the Kent CAstle RidE on 26 August and doubling his £500 target to raise over £1,000 for Alzheimer's Research UK.

The 260 miles route took Cearon to 32 castles. He says Dover gets his award as a magnificent example of a classic castle with an imposing fortress, but Allington castle looked beautiful when he arrived and he received a really warm welcome.

Despite his training, the ride was: "easily the hardest thing I have ever done and I really had to dig deep, especially on the first day."

Cearon is, however, considering doing the ride again next year!
