Commercial Services Group appoints new CEO

Matt Johnson has been appointed as the new CEO

Before becoming CEO, Matt was Executive Director of the Group’s education and resources brands KCS and CES Holdings, having acquired the latter in 2020.

Matt is an experienced business leader with a strong track record in leading large scale commercial transformation and growth strategies and his role as Chief Executive of Commercial Services is to create, develop and deliver the Group’s strategic business plan and to create value for shareholders through commercial growth and strong brand reputation.

Of his appointment, Matt said

“I am proud and excited to take on leadership of CSG as CEO and I’m looking forward to developing and executing the future business strategy. My own focus has always been on three things; customer experience, commercial success, and an empowered and progressive working culture.

The past year has seen extraordinary challenges for ourselves, our partners, customers and suppliers and the commitment shown by our employees has been demonstrated through the invaluable service the Group provides to its communities.

Looking ahead, we will be making sure our services are delivering exactly what the customer needs and wants, and exploring new opportunities for growth.  I am so excited to be working with our colleagues and the committed and passionate Executive Team to take the Group forward.”

Matt’s appointment has also resulted in a change in the management of KCS, with Andy Wilson being appointed as Managing Director.

Commercial Services Group is one of the largest providers of public sector and education procurement services globally, with a P&L turnover of more than £350m, +600 staff and five operating divisions: Resources, Energy, Recruitment, Facilities Services, and International Services.
