Recruiters Awards 2022 – Success!

CSG Recruitment team success in the prestigious Recruiters Awards 2022.

CSG was absolutely delighted that our recruitment teams across our core business and our joint ventures were successful in the prestigious Recruiters Awards 2022 for delivery of their exemplary client services. Congratulations to the whole team that contributed to this success we are very proud of you.

The application for Best public/third sector recruitment agency included just some of the challenging projects they had successfully worked on in 21/22. This included the recruitment of 1400 workers across 24 sites in Kent in a very short timeframe to fulfil the county’s emergency asymptomatic Covid-19 mass testing needs and supporting the Home Office with the recruitment of 150 staff to a variety of roles with immediate starting dates to support the unprecedented numbers of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children arriving in Kent.

The team support the joint ventures that CSG has developed with a number of local authorities. The unique JV model has enabled those councils to set up their own managed service operations, ensuring that all profits are retained within the sector for reinvestment in frontline services. The award recognises the social benefits alongside the innovation and hard work the team continually put in to supporting their customers.

Helen Lock, Managing Director Recruitment says:

“What an incredible achievement and testament to our public to public joint venture model, the collaborative partnership of local authorities to embrace such opportunities, and – of course – to our dedicated teams across recruitment, back-office support, commercial and central operations to deliver such successful services. Congratulations and well done to everyone. I work with great people who are as equally passionate about our delivery and our social value impact, as I am. It has been another challenging year for the sector with significant client pressures, but we have stepped up to make a real difference both as a supplier and as a partner to our joint venture authorities.”

Steve Wilson, Commercial Director added:

“Being owned by a local authority gives CSG a unique insight to the continuing pressures faced by local government and the JV model is about taking the best of the public sector and adding a commercial business model for additional benefit. This collaborative approach is enabling local authorities to not only achieve significant gains in the control of their contingent workforce through better management and transparency but also to achieve cost savings. This financial year 2022/23 working with its local authority partners the group is on course to have contributed £3m back to the public purse.”

And a final point from Helen:

“Ask me what we are doing; we are protecting the most vulnerable in society and supporting those most in need including giving opportunities to the residents in our communities, through local jobs for local people and supporting the unemployed. It is incredibly rewarding to be doing something that has a real purpose and is benefiting everybody in society.”
